The Future of PR

The Future of PR

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos always used to say, 'What's Not Going to Change in the Next Ten Years?'.

When thinking about the future of PR, this is a useful equation.

Will companies stop having news or stuff to share? No
Will companies stop having crisis'? No
Will companies put all their marketing eggs in one basket? No

PR's future, therefore, is assured. It's just changing. More influencers, less journalists. More AI, less copywriting. More Digital, less traditional.

As someone within the industry, I know how important it is for my clients to capitalize on their PR efforts and how broad the subject can get.

Often, I’ve found myself having to explain what it really is. Others usually ask, “So it’s like advertising?” or “How is it different from marketing?” and I explain myself over and over.

This gets tiring and often makes me question if I’ll ever have to “not” explain what it means.

PR, like many industries with the onset of AI, is changing. You either swim with the tide or against it.

Video replaces the written word in many ways, i.e., views, engagement, and ad dollars.

But there's still room for traditional journalism even though influencers are video first and thus will gain even more sway.

I'm doubling down on PR media placements, influencer marketing, copywriting, planning, and strategy.
